HELPFUL HINTS

  Reading Text Files into I-DEAS
  ------------------------------

  The I-DEAS software requires a carriage-return (<CR>) at the end of
  ASCII text (*.txt) files, so be sure to press <Return> at the end of
  the last line in the file if you use Notepad or other editors to edit
  an I-DEAS text file (and ALWAYS "Save As" a text file).

  Graphics Card Specific Problems

  Windows" document.

  Auto Scroll
  -----------

  Users are asked to NOT use the 'Auto Scroll' function, rather, they 
  should make sure that their middle mouse button is set to 'Return'.
  By using the 'Auto Scroll' function the user can create adverse affects
  to their IDEAS session.

Hardcopy output from I-DEAS

  For Windows systems, the "HC" command has been implemented.  The "PRINT SCREEN"
  or "ALT+PRINT SCREEN" commands for screen and window image capture can still
  be used.  When the "HC" command is executed, the output will be a bitmap (.bmp)
  file called ideas_hc.bmp.

  The environmental variable IDEAS_PRINT_COMMAND can be set to either the
  command to use for printing, or a script to run that will perform the printing.
  As an example:

  set IDEAS_PRINT_COMMAND=sdrcNTlp -d \\print_server\printer -b ideas_hc.bmp
  prior to running I-DEAS.

  sdrcNTlp is a printing utility supplied in the %SDRC_INSTL%\ideas
  directory and can now print .bmp files.
