This is version 1.50a of FTP Download. This version has been updated on April 28, 2002 This release contains OTE218.BIN and OTE308.BIN for updating 12.x, 15.x, 40.x, 50.x NET+ARM based NIC designs, and OTE400.BIN for updating 12.1 PSIO NICs that require the vector table be located in FLASH. It also contains OTE500.bin for updating 12.1 and 40.x PCI based NICs. This Program uses an FTP connection to download and install a new executable code version into your print server/network interface card (NIC). To run this program, both your workstation and the NIC must have TCP/IP enabled and must have been assigned a valid IP address. If workstation and printer are on different subnets, subnet masks and default routers may also need to be entered. Once loaded, start this program, select the core image file to be downloaded, and then enter the IP address of the print server to which the code is to be sent. The program will ask you for the maintenance password for this unit; the default password is "sysadm". This password can be changed with standard NIC maintenance software. This download program is used only for updating code in the NIC's. It is suggested that, once NIC's have been downloaded, that this program be un-installed. Download programs will be shipped with any future code update. The latest BIN files for use with the program are: OTE104.BIN -> all 68340-based Ethernet NICs OTE218.BIN -> All 12.0 and 12.1 NCC NICs (non-PCI) OTE308.BIN -> All 15,40, and 50 NCC NICs OTE400.BIN -> 12.1 PSIO with vector table in FLASH OTE500.BIN -> All 12.1 and 40.x PCI based NICs OTT100.BIN -> All old form-factor Token Ring NICs OTT202.BIN -> All new form-factor Token Ring NICs Other BIN files may be included for use with specific products not listed here. WARNING: Do not attempt to print to the unit while updating the NIC. Do not attempt to connect to the unit's HTML administrator pages or telnet to the NIC while updating the NIC. Do not power-cycle the unit while updating the NIC. Failure to follow these instructions may cause the NIC firmware to be improperly loaded. If this occurs, the NIC firmware must be re-loaded at the factory.
