CUT
Trace the pattern for model B in required size. Measure the length
of the child and the length of her arm. Lengthen front and back pieces
to a long dress. Lengthen the sleeve to a trumpet sleeve as illustrated.
(Illustration A).
Cut the pieces for the dress according to Burda pattern instructions
and your own changes. (Exclude pieces 7, 8 for the ruffle on the
original pattern).

Cut two angel wings of fabric according to the pattern piece.

DRESS
SEW
Sew the dress according to Burda pattern instructions. Finish the
lower edge of the arm and dress with a

'' (6 mm) wide double
hem.

WINGS
Place back and front pieces wrong sides together. Pin around all
sides. Snap on presser foot J. Select a zig zag, length 2.0, width
2.0. Place the steel wire underneath the J foot in the opening and
let it be stitched all around the wings for stability. Bend the wire
to match the shape of the wing to stitch it to the edge. Be careful
not to break the needle. Stop stitching about 4'' (10 cm) from
where you started. Wrap some tape around the sharp ends of
the steel wire to connect the ends. Stitch the last stitches around
the wings. (Illustration C).
Snap on presser foot A. Select a straight stitch, stitch length 3.0.
Fold the bias binding strip around the wing edge and bind the
wings. Be careful to not stitch in the steel wire and break the
needle!
Fold the 2

'' x 15'' (6 x 38 cm) strip lengthwise right sides
together. Stitch along the side. Use a Fasturn and turn strip right
side out.
Place the strip on the front side between the wings leaving
approx 4'' (10 cm) above the wings and 3'' (7.5 cm) underneath.
Snap on presser foot D or the optional Edge/Joining Foot. With
right needle position straight stitch, topstitch the band to the
wings. Fold the steel wire to a loop. (Tape the sharp ends!)
Insert in the band to stabilize the wings. (Illustration D)

Fold the band ends around the edge as illustrated to make a loop
for the tieband. Secure the loops with a few stitches on the back
side. (Illustration E).

Snap on the D-Foot or the optional Edge/Joining Foot. Select right needle
position straight stitch. Fold and press the sides of the 1 _” (4 cm) strip to the
middle, then fold it again to create four layers of fabric to a 3/8'' (1 cm) wide,
100'' (2.50 m) long waist band.Topstitch the edges. (Illustration F).

Insert the band in the upper loop of the wing. Fasten the band
centered in the loop with a few stitches and in the wings. Fold the
bands upwards and secure with a few stitches as illustrated.

Place the wings on the back of “little angel” with the tie bands
over the shoulders. Cross on the front and insert the ends in
the lower loop on the wings on the back. Tie up at the front
with a bow.
